Genuine victorian tapered quill, not replica

Post by Paul F »

I just picked up this little beauty
A genuine Victorian tapered quill with ivory tips in first class condition, no damage, it is just 5 1/4" long.

Photo 1. Displayed on right of page 212 of Jeff Dell's Mura's book hooked on floats

Photo 2: Displayed with period end tackle

This is a jewel in my collection, where it will stay until I die.

You jammy......
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

Your a very lucky chap! One of those sold at auction last year for a lot of money!

I have to be satisfied with making and using Victorian tapered London Patent Quill replicas. But I guess you're never going to use it, but will have the pleasure of owning and displaying it all the same. Anyways, I'll be making more replicas this winter!

And Steve you can pick your replica up when you visit this summer!
