I find them brilliant Olly, the only "problem" I find is the Carp go for the Blobs more often than the bait (and thus get spooked!)

I've had a good few 'out-and-out' take on two 8mm cork balls, one red and one black, pushed together as a sighter (permanent marker colouring) used as a controller and also had 1" bubble floats taken whole on two occasions.

Carp graze on the algae on floating objects so they'll frequently nibble at anything in the water....I've often had them show more interest in my floats than my bait, but eventually they get a whiff of the taste of the bait and do what they were supposed to do.

I (finally) took you advice Nobby :Hat: ; I went to my local Carp Shop and bought some Fox Bubble floats. Wow, us traditional boys are missing out; I was tempted by a Cammo peaked cap, a Carbon fibre wanging stick, a stealth wheelbarrow and, best of all, imitation bread! I assume it is so it stays on the hook but just ask me for some of my home made bread, that would stay on the hook till doomsday!

I will report back about my bubbly floats.

Pretty un-noticeable to the fish below and they have a bit of casting weight too, tend not to dive too deep on the cast either.

I guess you could always coat one in algae and silkweed.

Back Off Fairbrass!...I thought of it first! :club:
