Generosity isn't confined to TFF members,

Post by AshbyCut »

A few weeks ago a contact on a Facebook angling page asked if anyone had some rather hard to get hold of thread ... and I was able to help him out. I knew he made floats, and had admired the photos I'd seen of his work, so when he asked how much I wanted I said "please send me a couple of your floats in time for the coming season."

A package arrived in yesterday's post and, when I opened it words failed. As you can see from these photos, he'd sent me a hand stitched hessian and cotton float roll containing not two, but eight superb floats from 5 inches to 8 inches in length.

Those involved in traditional angling never cease to amaze me !

Brilliant!

Nice knowing that there are some decent people left in the world.
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

I think it is a traditional fishing community thing.

Generous indeed , lovely looking float roll & floats.
Funny that this thread pop back on the front page today. I have just received a parcel from a seller on the well know auction site . To my surprise delight and I discovered not just the three flies I paid for but in total 13 flies .
What a kind chap
