As a child I used to collect hook packets(as well as beer mats and birds eggs!).I thought I was the only person in the world that collected hook packets! Like all childhood fads I grew tired of them and threw them all away, along with my collection of "Fishing" magazines.

Great collection Deaf Cat. Having spent nearly forty years in the print industry as a compositor and graphic designer, its the artwork, layout and fonts that fascinates me. Such interesting little objects that were made to throw away once used.

Akraqual Brand Fishing Tackle by Lee of Redditch
M Lee & Son Ltd, Akraqual Works, Bates Hill, Redditch, Eng.

I don't think I deliberately bought any of these. I suspect they came along with hook and float wallets.

I hope that putting them safe here will help researchers such as our own esteemed Nobby to document demised brands / dealers / manufacturers.

One of my favourite individual packets, this is a folded wrap which would have had hooks inside, when opened up fully this is what you see.

Some great looking packets and some famous names. I have a load of these somewhere, I collected them years ago and did intend putting them in frames. I must find them and put a few on this post.

Wal.
