Very few products in the up UK are now supplied in tins.A friend of mine smokes cigarillos and gives me one of these tins every week. They make
ideal fly boxes when lined with foam and are also very useful for carrying other small items of tackle. No doubt some of you skilled artists could decorate them with a Piscatorial scene. Send me a PM if would like tin.

What a lovely tin Mark, isn't strange how we traditionalists can get excited by such humble things? :Hat:

I used to have two of these. I just used them to carry packets of hooks. Eventally the catch on the lids became rather slack so I changed to the tins with a lip all the way round, like tobacco tins but smaller. I have used one of these for about 15 years and another for about ten years.

I find useful tins in charity shops. Wooden cigar boxes too. They make good float boxes.

If you want tins and boxes visit the boot fairs you will be spoilt for choice, you will find a receptacle for every need under the sun and sometimes you find floats etc inside, for just coppers.

I still have a wooden Manikin box that was my grandfather’s, it’s now lined with ethafoam for my day’s supply of salmon flies - I like to travel light!
They can be bought very cheaply ont’ bay, and I recommend them to the house.
