Fishing for crucians with running line, I use some very fine floats, such as 2 X no.1. I actually make my own float adaptors specifically for these occasions.

The bottom two in each photo, are examples of what I make & use. Consisting of either 0.75mm or 1.0mm silicon tubing, incorporating a size 20 cut back micro swivel. I leave the silicon tubing long, so that I can customise to the specific float on the bank.
They've never let me down, nor affect the performance of the float.

It makes entire sense to cut the idea down in size Michael. I have some micro swivels somewhere and will give that a go. Assuming that is that I ever get any time to sit at a pond for a morning!
