Yes. It's a South Bend lure, I think, but I can't tell you the name of that particular pattern. I was told that some of the early ones have glass eyes, not plastic, and are quite valuable, but I've seen them sell on American eBay for quite small sums, so perhaps that was wrong.
Maybe it's a Muskie Oreno lure, the colours are very unusual.
I'd contact one of the American collectors for more information. This might be a good starting point:

Thanks Nobby - can't why I didn't think it might be American! Its a bit of brute - 5 trebles doesn't give old Esox much of a chance! Thanks for the site steer - I'll see what they come up with.

I only recognise it because I have one in its box, given to me by a collector for fixing his tractor. It's a funny old world. Would that he had given me one of his Avocets, instead
