Finer alternative to maxima?
Re: Finer alternative to maxima?
I wonder when synthetic spider-silk wil arrive. Stronger than steel. Should we not all be using gut, though, and can it still be obtained?

One line that has not had a mention and that I have used for a great many years for everything from salmon to carp to bass and have never been let down by is Berkeley Big Game. Tough as old boots, decent stretch and cheap as chips.

Dear Sir,I'm about to try some Silstar match line at .10 for a breaking strain of 2.9 lbs that's about the thinkness of 1.5 lbs Maxiuma.I use very light diameter line as where I fish , you only catch small fish in the summer, and I don't go out in the winter but the bigger ones are caught then.Reelmaker.

If your worried about the thickness of Maxima then just go down a little in BS. It'll still be as strong as your Nan!!!
