Looks very inviting. Shame all the similar rivers down here are full of silver spotty things

so what if i spelt a word wrong. at least i put everything i catch back
So basically it's had the stuff poached out of it! Drives me mad that. We have trouble with it on the wye from the European workers as well as the locals. The only difference between the two us their prey. UK-salmon and eels, Europe-everything. If/when I catch them it's coppers straight away.

Sadly, it also seems to have had extra stuff added, notably, "disposable" barbecues. Even the cormorants have given up. Maybe they were getting bbq'd, too? One can but hope...

Ive fished at Dobbs weir for the last 3 years on and off.

You get load of anglers there and as far as I know . Its regarded as a serious Barbel venue. Hard fishing but thats the case all the way along the Lea valley.

There are many reasons why the Lea has declined. Even Fishers green which had a disputed Chub record last season is hard fishing....and that stretch aint poached.

Yes there has been problems in fishing all over the Uk with course fish being taken for the pot....from natural waters that cannot sustain that kind of thing and keep us pleasure anglers happy.

Nothing new though is it! Th e great man himself Issac...whose image adorns this fine forum . The joint authour of anglings finest book...alot of it delt with how to cook what he caught in the magnificent river Lea!

Ive met up onthe bankside with anglers who fish the Lea , anglers from Poland , Rumania ......and like all people there were good uns and less than sociable. I spent an enjoable few hours at Goldings pond in Epping forest with a a fellow angler, or Rumanian origin. He understood the rules. He had a love for fishing and a respect just like I feel on this forum. Then there were the geezers from Harlow , boozed etc...You know I aint gonna generalise.

To me Its about what you do not who you are.....My old man travelled 500 miles with a tool bag, to get work....thats why I got a london accent not a westcountry one. We enjoyed the fishing up here an all!
