Wax jacket / coat Bob James

Got some interesting traditional angler's clothing you want to talk about.

Saw a lovely old Barbour riding coat today for sale in a little shop down in Somerset, sadly funds didn't allow me to buy it. Looked wonderful

I have one of these from Jack Pike. It's not a barbour but it is noiseless, waterproof, has plenty of pockets, Hood and a flap inside which folds out for you to sit on. Less than half the price of a Barbour too.

God never did make a more calm, quiet, innocent recreation than angling.

The coat Bob James used to wear was from a company called Mainstream who I believe are now no more. another product I used to sell. It was nylon though, not waxed cotton.

I had the same coat & bib'n brace - just looked in the garage & the B & B is still there! Acquired the same time as Bob James's one.
Size XL - going cheap!

I love that photo. Reminds me of Ivor Cutler.

Cool threads, dude.

I suspect it could be “love”, despite its drawbacks in the rhyming department.
