Would someone please show or describe the Masterline John Wilson waistcoat please? Is there a back pocket and D ring for the net? How many pockets?

JW did put a template in one of his books for making one yourself. I think this was reproduced in one of the fishing compendium type books which come out each Christmas, so it's out there somewhere.

Definitely had a D ring but not sure about a rear pocket. If I've seen the pattern somewhere, then there's a good chance I therefore have the book.

I'll have a look this weekend when I'm home.

It's a wee bit worse for wear and crumpled but it does the business!

Thanks for that Santiago, but it isn't the same I ordered. Mine has a fleece lining and can be seen here:

About half the page down.
Does anyone own that version and can tell me something about the pockets? Especially if there is a back pocket?

Never feel properly dressed without my waistcoat, have a fleece lined one for winter and a couple of lightweight ones for summer. Things I carry in them all the time are:

Small box with swivels, links, beads, bait bands and other small items of terminal tackle like small lead weights.
Scissors, hook length material, small set of scales, tape measure, eye glass for checking knots or damaged line, split shot.
Club cards, EA licence.
Packets of hooks.
Spare car key & club lock keys.
Disgorgers, forceps etc

Basically armed with that and a small waist pouch for bait I'm able to leave the chair, bag, rod bag, kitchen sink in a swim and wander off rod and net in hand and drop on swims for 20 minutes or so then move on if no action. I have had lot's of fish this way and to date can't recall missing anything so the waistcoat it essentially my tackle box I wear rather than keep in the bag. I do carry one in the bag with all the additional stuff one convinces one's self are needed but rarely get it out on the day.

The best one in my opinion was the john Wilson, shame they don't make them any more.
