I'm still a fan of Muck Boots which I find warm enough with walking socks and thermal under socks. One advantage of them on slippery river banks (and shallow wading) is that you can screw these in without doing any damage to them: http://www.supatracks.com/best-grip-boo ... ne-uk.html
