I must admit I am a scruffy beggar !

I have and wear clothes that are 25 years old, and they are the new ones... my gardening boots actually were issued to me in 1979, and are still going strong, except they have no tread any more, and are now quite cracked, but very comfortable, I Dubbin them regularly, they will probably see me out.I still wear ( apologies for this ) my Army camo jacket that was issued in 1972, strictly for cold weather river bank trips, I wear it with layers underneath , usually my sons ex RAF fleece and sweaters.
I have a rather nice fishing shirt which I purchased in Australia in 2003, the collar had worn away so it has been reversed,I also wear a (cough ) Florida fishing baseball cap purchased in Florida in 1996, it is very worn , stained and patched, and has been thrown out by SWMBO TWICE!!! and rescued from the bin by myself.I wear that on all my charter boat fishing trips.

Hats...... I love hats, and have a terrific collection, of just about every type, from Dryzabone bush hats, to Fedoras, to waxy brimmed hats, to Cowboy hats, a few , no , a lot of unworn baseball caps, quite a few nice wooly winter hats, some balaclavas, I even have a selection of ex army forage caps , but my firm favourite,is my Cork Pith Helmet, it is an original, from overseas, but SWMBO wont let me wear it , I am also banned from wearing my crocodile skin Aussie bush hat, (purchased from an authorised dealer in W Aus ) just in case PETA see me.

After all that I usually wear my rather battered dryzabone bush hat, for freshwater fishing, mainly because it does what it says on the tin.

And finally.... I am at the moment in Poole , Dorset, down for a weeks sea fishing, we have a couple of functions to attend here as well, I was packing for the week amd my good lady wife said.
"Make sure you pack some decent clothes for the functions "
I replied, "I dont know what you mean by decent "
She replied " Anything that is not covered in oil or glue, and has no holes in it "

I rest my case ..

OMR
Hurrumph....... whatever happened to Handlines ?

How are you supposed to repair the holes without glue? And skimping on the lubrication will only cause more friction, which will wear the fibres and cause more holes.

Women and their funny ideas, eh?
A well tended garden is a sign of an un-committed angler
