A present from my son and his fiancè, a rather fine moleskin waistcoat, lovely and comfy but why does everything need to be dry clean only these days?

Very nice indeed Paul...
Funnily enough I got a super waistcoat in blue and a rather lovely if not slightly camp floral shirt from the “Lovely One”.....pub wear rather than bankside methinks!

Edward VII started it, when he got a bit portly he couldn't do up his bottom button and was copied by others.
It also takes the strain off the thread which holds the button on when seated, particularly if the waistcoat is a little tight in that region!
