Cork Cloth Clothing

Post by Shaun Harrison »

I guess it is the angler in me or I guess it could be the wine drinker in me but I love cork.

Not really sure it is traditional but whilst in Portugal not so long ago I found myself drawn to a shop where everything looked to be made of cork. Hats, caps, jackets, ties, umbrellas, in fact you name it they seemed to have it. I could have seen myself angling in a nice cork shirt but I had totally used my baggage allowance up on the flight out and didn't intend leaving much behind when I left so the shirt stayed on its hanger.

It is strange what triggers the old memory bank. I need to be off to a British Carp Study Group meeting to-night and listening to the rain beating against my window I suddenly thought...
'I wish I had brought that cork umbrella whilst in Portugal - the one that Carol didn't like'.

It seemed the right sort of thing to be carrying whilst attending a gentlemen's evening talking about fishy things.

Anyway, here is a link to some rather eccentric cork look clothing and accessories - perhaps I should have brought a tie, that wouldn't have put my luggage over weight too much.

Went to a craft fair a short while before Christmas where there was a stall selling everything made from cork - including hats , bags, and many other items.

Someone please nudge me when they make a deerstalker.

Check this one out. Never stuck for a spare but why would you want to put a cork back in the top once you have opened a bottle? :Hahaha:

Some people are nuts and an open bottle of wine is an empty bottle as far as I'm concerned
