An ambition fulfilled

Post by AshbyCut »

Newly arrived with me is something I have lusted after for many years ... a tweed Norfolk jacket.

I wore it for the first time for a gentle stroll along the Ashby Canal towpath today (where else ???) at Cheney Wharf, where I bought Mrs. AC a Pimms and hot collation.

It will be my angling jacket of choice for the foreseeable future ... which no doubt guarantees unbroken sunshine for weeks and weeks !!!

(As Mrs. AC says when she catches sight of me in profile ... "A fine figure of two men !!!")
"Beside the water I discovered (or maybe rediscovered) the quiet. The sort of quiet that allows one to be woven into the tapestry of nature instead of merely standing next to it." Estaban.

Very smart AC!
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

Thank you, Gentlemen All.

One of my favourite literary characters was described as " a fluffy minded and amiable old gentleman with a liking for new toys."

I can think of nothing better to aspire to !!! :Hat:
