It was called 'Book of the Flemish Giant' by Stuart Walker (Richard Walker) and is typically detailed and informative as you would expect. It must have been one of his earliest publications and was still being sold by the Flemish Giant Club in recent years. Goes to show you the talent of the man.

The 1954 second edition of Rod Building for Amateurs was printed in hardback (limited) as well as soft back.

Dear Mark

Have you looked at/considered a book published by The Medlar Press in 2006: The Stone-Walker Letters. :Hat:

The period covered is 1956-1983.

As there are only two correspondents the book seemingly meets your criteria of Walker participating in a major way.....just a thought

I've only got seven of these books. I get a lot of fun hunting down great fishing books in the many second hand bookshops in and around Hay on Wye. It is very rare to spot anything by Dick Walker, but I did pick up a nice copy of Tony Miles The Complete Specimen Hunter a few weeks ago. it was in the horticulture section - you have to look carefully......
Trouble is, the fish just don't read the books......

If you're ever in Inverness look out for the second hand book shop. It has a massive fishing section and there's often some of Richard Walker books there, and also a few first editions from other famous anglers of bygone days.

It truly is an amazing book shop! The inside looks more like an old grand library, complete with wooden step ladders etc. And all the shelves are brimming with quality books. None of yer tat.
