Today's the day!
Yes folks, it’s 59 years ago around 5am this very morning when the world of carp fishing was changed forever... Ravioli rules!

Is there a photo of the 44 being held off the groud so it is possible to see her depth?

Yes, there is a picture of Peter Thomas holding her on her side so you can see that she was really deep set. I think it's in the Redmire Pool book, if my memory serves me right.

Is it me or does Pete Thomas look like he's thinking "this should have been my bl**dy fish!"

Re: Today's the day!
I know for one I would have just been ecstatic to witness Mr walker hook and land her. Competitiveness doesn't really feature in my angling. Unless gudgeon are concerned that is! Also walker seems to have been a decent sort. He even lied about the weight of one of his fish to a fellow ccc member so as not to beat him twice! Please clarify someone, can't remember off the top of my head who it was, but i remember yhat said angler shouted across redmire 'you've beaten me again Dick' and Dick claiming that the fish weighed equal to said anglers previous capture, even though it beat it by a few pounds. Now that's angling and spotsmanship. A true gent.
