Fascinating. So most people know the story of the capture of ravioli and now called Clarissa. So why did they change it?

Well fish shouldn't have names carp tench roach bream pike is fine

Unfortunately I think it merely comes down to time. My later Walker letters are typed. Most type much faster than they can slide a pen around a sheet of paper. If you think how many letters must have fallen through his door (no internet back then) it is un-believable he hand wrote any.

If I take a week away from my desk I come back to over a 1,000 emails and a big percentage of those are questions. Okay, these days it is much less effort bouncing a email to someone but I guess Walker's letter box flap had to be replaced a few times.

Sad that people don't actually write very often though. I have been guilty of hammering the keyboard and nothing else for many years but have recently re-discovered the pleasure of pushing a pen, partly through this forum and partly through Fennel's Journal's.
