Help required 15' E.L. Sowerbutts Cane Rod

Post by Fredline »

When I was sorting out some rods to take to Redditch this May I came across this "chunky monkey" from the E.L. Sowerbutts stable. It is 15' 3" over 3 lengths. The top section is perfect but the bottom and middle need a little work. It is a later model hence the E.17 address. What would be nice i would be to find out what E.L.S. named this rod originally. So it is over the you TFFers, if you would be so kind. Much appreciated Fredline.

If you have no grease with you, and your rings are full of ice, do not cut out the ice with a pen-knife but get your man to put the rings one by one in his mouth, and so to thaw the ice.

John
I dont think E.L. Sowerbutts put names on his rod,s apart from one and that,s "The Master"

I have two that have no name. They just have E.L. Sowerbutts / Maker / Walthamstow / E17. In Indian ink.

1 is a 16 1/2ft four piece, the other a 14ft three piece.
