Refurb being done on this Ru Spin De Luxe 8ft Spinning rod.

Does anyone know why it was called Ru Spin ?

I think sowerbutts use to retail French fixed spool spinning reels called Ru, I'll check later I think I have an advert somewhere.

Found this in a Sowerbutts catalogue

17ft Fibreglass 5 piece "Ru"



And in the same Catalogue is the Ruspin De Luxe at 7ft.
The Catalogue adds all show one word (Ruspin) but the rods show two (Ru-Spin).

Here you go, this ad is for a sea fishing reel but they were bound to do other sizes.

Thanks for the add Harry.. Just found some more info and there is a smaller spinning reel. RU Sport Rockland . French made 1950-60
