What an artist Paul Cook is. The job he has done restoring this Victorian Roach Pole/Rod is exquisite :Hat:

Now all the Mole has to do is catch a 2lb roach on it! :Hahaha:

Paired very nicely with an old Victorian Winch.....even if the roach do not want to play, at the very least the Fat One will look the part. :Wink:

It's a lovely pole/ rod . Wonder it's life story ... fish caught, previous owners etc. I guess Roach fishing maybe on the Lea

The writing is more worn than that but is still legible. The address shown is 8 Commercial Street, Shoreditch.......this dates it about 1875/76 before they moved to the address on your example :Hat:

So definitely Victorian and a venerable piece of history :Wink:

Many thanks for the kind words from the other posters and indeed Richard C you can have a waggle if we can arrange The Gonkathon as soon as they finish their 'oggins :whistle:
