Sowerbutts "avocet" ???????.

Post by PondLife »

From what i've read on this forum only B james were allowed (copyright) to use the name "avocet" on their rods. So has someone been at it again with the indian ink or is this feller genuine?.

    I know nothing of this other than that's some serious cash monies being spent there.

I know, silly money. The gentleman who bought it always tends to pay over the odds for rods. Must have a lot of money.

LJM the one that sold Yesterday was a seriously good rod I spoke with the owner and had additional pictures. I have waggled one of these before and only the very early early BJ Avocets and early Ogden Smith Arun were better. The best avocets always have whole cane butt and split cane middle and top sections. The later ones were split cane throughout and know where near as good in my opinion the real shame is I suspect this rod will never see the bank again.
