How do you whip so quickly? And can I ask what grade thread you use?
Hovis.

Practice.

I started whipping rod,s using size A thread (a job lot), the first one was a bit of a mess and took me ages.
The thicker the thread the easier and quicker it is to whip
The green on the 550 is size E, (it,s the only size i have of that color) so nice and thick,
All done by hand.

Mmmm I tend to use pipers silk amd it beds down but can be fiddly. Size E looks perfect on the rod though well done sir! I really must start my new rod now.
I have laid aside business, and gone a'fishing.

Had a chat with john at Chapman today and your rod is a North Western Blank, the writing "THE CARP" was not written by Chapman.
