Chapman's "SP"

Post by AshbyCut »

Did anyone come up with a final answer to what "SP" means on a Chapman's rod ?

(I know "N" means "New Look")
"Beside the water I discovered (or maybe rediscovered) the quiet. The sort of quiet that allows one to be woven into the tapestry of nature instead of merely standing next to it." Estaban.

Simply Perfect perhaps?

Sensibly priced, which they were.

Standard Pattern, not customised or deluxe. Can't take the credit for this info, heard it from forum member Greentura... :Hat:

The difference between the Amwell Standard and Amwell SP - is the Standard has intermediates whilst the SP has none. The reel fittings also differ.

I have a Peter Stone Ledgerstrike SP which has no intermediates and without checking I think the reel bands may be black to match the whippings. A nice rod all the same with a fine and sensitive tip.
