I agree. £80-120 usually gets you a reasonably good one. A top notch original (un-restored) could make £200 on a good day.

Would any LS be worth £500 [unless it had an amazing history eg. having been owned all it's life by Mr Venables himself & used by Mr Crabtree as illustrated in "Mr C Goes Fishing" - which it wasn't]?

Wasn't it the cheaper "boys" rod of Allcocks range?

I like mine [bought for £90 a year ago] but wouldn't put it at near the top of my list of rods to own or fish with. At least part of it's attraction is the APFA connection. I appreciate that there are several models of LS, some more valuable than others.

I've put the eBay one on watch & will be very surprised if it shifts at that price & with a non-original bag!

I just found this one on the web and was quite shocked to read that it's 11ft 3" in length.

http://www.mullocksauctions.co.uk/lot-5 ... piece.html

Although (I think, judging by the label) it's a later model, £180 seems a bit much going by the guide price? I surpose though, somethings worth what One's willing to pay for it.

Actually it says 11' ..... 3 piece rod. Probably an error by Mullocks...they make plenty.

A tidy one like that....£180 isn't so surprising, but it is indeed a lot of money.

You're right Nobby, so it does. Isn't it still 6 inches too long though? Or were they made in 11ft versions too?

I've only ever seen them listed as 10' 6", I think the chap had Mullocks had had a long day.

There again, I've seen a de-Luxe and that isn't listed anywhere......
