Identify Allcocks fly rod

Post by Kirpan »

Hi, I have just found in a boot fair an Allcocks fly rod, well where it has been re-varnished in its past it has lost any details on the rod, the butt is stamped S Allcocks & Co Ltd, and the bag has its cloth label,
Details of the rod are , 10' built cane 3 piece, 8 snake rings + tip, the cane sections measure , butt = .413" - .350", middle .325" - .230", top .20" - .095" these are the cane inc varnish and as near to the ends without going onto the whippings,
The rod is fairly straight but with a slight droop to the top section, all sections are complete no breakages but would require new rings [rust ] and one furrule that has moved slightly,
Now if someone could help and identify the model, and suggest a weight of fly line and potential use that would be really great,
Cheers !!
