Re: Hardy coarse rod

Post by Graeme »

Tried out my Murdoch or Decantelle this week. Did not try a multiplier on it but a Mitchell300a worked fine. Casting was difficult because of the trees but I managed to flick a pike float with a very small piece of herring a good 60 yards. Unfortunately, the pike did not come out to play although a shoal of roach under a beach tree kept the match rod busy. Next time however, as I am an admirer of Alexander Wanless, I will fish a controller with a pike fly on the trace.I have sbirolino floats which will be ideal. There are a few gaps in the trees where I can put the rod through its paces. Hardy's have still to answer my request for identification from the rod number. May have to wait a few weeks til I can get back to the Loch. Graeme.
