Hardy rod tube.

Post by Crucian »

Good evening Gent's,

Having almost finished restoring a 1938 Hardy 'Allround No1', I now wish to make an aluminium rod tube for it, as it would have had when supplied by Hardy's.

Have had a look around on the 'net and the aluminium tubing is readily available in imperial sizes, at a reasonable £15 for a 4' length of 2" tubing.
The thick leather for the top end cap will cost about the same. A plug for the bottom will be turned from scrap aluminium bar.

Does anyone have an 'All-round no1' original Hardy tube? I imagine the ' Wallis Avon No1' would have come with the same tube.

I need the tube diameter and details of the leather cap please, some photo's would be very useful.

Thanks in advance for any help, it will be much appreciated.
