Serial number is B89466
Suggested date please ? Seems out of sequence or something, and has the appearance of a really "hammered" rod from the fifties, compared with E97453' also Wanless 6 lb.
Thanks

Re: Hardy Wanless 6lb
I would suggest that B89466 (which is not listed) might be E89466 (1953)
E97453 is also not listed - but would be 1954

According to Graham Turner's book E 97453 would be 1955 but as DC has already said B89466 isn't listed.
It does suggest that B was used again in 1969 but I'm no expert.

Re: Hardy Wanless 6lb
I have E97453 as 1955 and B89466 as 1917 but as the Wanless is listed as being made from 1933 to 1970 it cant be right.

I wonder if the butt cap has been changed, they are prone to corroding away if left in a damp bag.
A close up photo of the butt cap showing rod number might help a bit more.

Re: Hardy Wanless 6lb
I think we can all relax now. under a strong lens the B is actually a VERY poorly cut E, so sorry all.
The other 6lb is E97453 so, as you suggest, 1954 onwards.
Thanks again.
