Hardy jjh triumph 8ft 9" #6.

Post by Hampshireboy »

Hi all, does anybody own or have any knowledge on the above rod. Thinking of teaming it up with a Hardy Marquis no 6. I was also wandering if I could use a #5 line or would too much effort be needed to load the rod properly and therefore tiring. I have not got a #6 line at the moment and putting #7 would be inappropriate for the streams ands flies I use. The Marquis Reel should look ok on the rod. Any thoughts and opinions would be welcome. Regards Steve.

A modern #5 line would be fine, as you are on a stream I guess you will not be false casting loads, just picking the line off the water will load that rod.
A small Marquis will complete a nice outfit.

Lovely reel the Marquis!

Thanks guys for your input. Managed to get the Marquis for £105 very clean and the rod hasn't arrived yet but looked awesome on the pics . £175 but if it's as good as description and photos then I will be happy. Always a risk obviously but hopefully all will be good. Haven't told the wife yet⛑
