Agate tip guide wanted for MK IV restoration

Post by Leon Hoogendijk »

Hi guys,

The red agate tip guide on one of my B James MK IV rods has cracked. I'm desperately chearching for one in good condition (or new) to restore the rod (which I want to use for my own fishing). Does any of you have a spare one I could buy, or does any of you know where I can find one?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Leon

If you can't find one maybe our fellow member Old Tackle can help you out. He's able to produce new agate linings.

If the damage wasn't to bad, it might be possible to rescue the ring. viewtopic.php?f=50&t=23627

Hi Leon,
please let us know the inner & outer diameter of the agate ring and the inner dia. of the tube, I'm sure that somebody can help (and maybe myself).

With my best wishes,
Michael

Found someone in Poland (!) who's able to make custom agate guides with exactly the specifications you want. His name is Ernest Oczos, his Email is: ernest.oczos@perfect-europe.com His website is: www.perfect-europe.com He did a perfect job for me for a very reasonable price.
