B James whipings

I have a few b James Rods is the exact colour of the whipings available I have one I believe is ruby red pac bay if that makes any sense and I was looking at a Paul Cook landing net pole which seems to have the correct colour whipings that a b James Rod should have I thought I had read some where that b James burgundy whipings where not available anymore could some one kindly help me with my confusion :Hat: thank you mike

Mike, I have found that most B James rods can be matched up with Gudebrod or FishHawk maroon nylon. It looks nothing like the correct colour until it is varnished. (No colour sealing required).
If an old original rod only needs a ring or two replacing then a good match is garnet. This is due to the old varnish yellowing and darkening the threads.
