It looks far better on your rod than on their website.....it was under my nose all the time :Brickwall:

Which thickness did you use, The 'A'

I get so confused with all the different thread gauges?

Nobby, I used A for the inters and C for the rings and ferrules.

Looks really good, POD. I like the green. Were the intermediates a pain? I've just done a Black Seal and didn't bother with them. I don't think you can see the shadow too much after the first coat of varnish.

I also don't think the tip is short. I think both of my floatcasters have tips that are shorter then the middle and butt sections.

The inters, especially the cluster above the label, were very time consuming. I whipped them all in one and then cut the tags between them. I think if I was doing another keeper, like this one, I'd not bother so much. Like I say, the green is as close a match as I could find to the original whipping.

Also MD, cheers for the tip on the black friars; very good call that one.

This is an old post but such a good read and a wealth of good info and input from other members. I keep finding great reads here, its like a great book, never want to put it down, always something no matter how old a post may be.
So thanks guys, and thanks to The Prince for this Post.

A very nice rod the Rover. QBP sold me a refurbished model at a very fair price last year.

Its basically an Avon-style all-round rod. Its coped with low double carp, yet its not so beefy that you can't get enjoyment from small roach and perch.

Its not too heavy for trotting and a very capable ledger rod.

I prefer to travel light when fishing, taking just the one rod and increasingly this is the one I'm using the most.
