Trying to christen my Strikerite
Yesterday I took the Strikerite to my favourite swim. Coupled with a Rapidex it did a great job trotting some maggots down the current.
The fish weren't too fond of the beautiful tackle and didn't show up. Well, at least a friend showed up and took a picture ...

You were out there Martin and that's what matters.

Never mind, as long as you enjoyed your day out with your traditional outfit that is what matters most. The fish will come!

Yes, Bobby, it is! You seem to know my hometown quite well. If you ever plan to visit again, let me know and we'll have a pint of Schlenkerla together (this applies to all members of the TFF, of course!).
Today I got closer to a christening. I had one very shy bite. In early march it's always very hard to catch a fish around here.

Bamberg is a fantastic place. It must be a very special feeling to fish in a swim like that. I am sure you´ll have your fish on the strikerite very soon. A nice rod. Thanks for your offer, I would very much enjoy a good Rauchbier while talking traditional fishing. Maybe one day... Enjoy! Bobby

It's really very special to fish there. I'm one of the lucky few to have a season ticket for the river - no day tickets available. The river is very well looked after by the local fishermen's guild, which is basically a couple of families that have been holding the fishing rights for the Regnitz for at least the last 8 centuries. To finance their work they're selling season tickets to anglers. There are endless waiting lists for the season tickets ...
