I'm not sure if coming off topic is such a crime on-line. Forums like this promote debate which sometimes tails off elsewhere but is that really so bad? I see this as a bit like being in a pub with everyone talking about fishing and just like in the pub situation an hour later somebody might say 'to get back to what I was saying earlier…' Anyway I'm going even further off topic now.
Nowt much wrong with the thread as it stands, but you'll know only too well how this kind can quickly fall into disrepair. This rod's too dear, that reel is overpriced. Walker was a legend, Walker was a flash in the pan. Those threads go nowhere. Just looking in that's all.

As you were gentlemen.

Reelmaker, do you want to let us all know the name of this rodmaker, could do with saving a few bob.

I wish the market could stand it but it won't. I still have to charge pretty much what I was charging when a new Bishop cost £600 and I even turned down a mint Kennet Perfection for £280 back in the day. However, I'm happy with what I do have and because I fish for trout as well I have to split my funds accordingly.

Beresford, I read an article a couple of weeks ago which said, self employed earn less than they were earning
in 1995, and i certainly think that's about right.

'Twas Snape, Sir. The Kid still patrols, thankfully.

Happy to admit I'm getting old and forgetful but when did I miss Walker was a flash in the pan.

Tis what I was beginning to think Colin  .......not many fishing ledgends with a memorial plaque fitted to the front wall of a house where they used to once live, bit like Sherlock Holmes :Hat:
