Can anyone tell me anything about this rod made by Lee of Redditch? What is the name of the rod? Would it be suitable for big tench and possibly even carp and pike? I know nothing about it apart from the fact it is 9ft long and cane.

Looks like a Lepson, in which case I believe it was made for Salmon spinning. I have an 8ft one and its definitely powerful enough for tench and I would say pike and carp too up to low double figures and quite possibly more.

Thanks Paul. Do you have any idea as to the approximate age of this model?

Sorry MaggotDrowner, I don't have much information on Lee rods. I would guess it's from the 50's or maybe early 60's, but maybe another forum member will know more.

I hope so. Also the colour is a bit dodgy if you ask me. I prefer pale cane. Is this the colour of the cane or is it a coloured varnish that could be removed, thus restoring a paler colour? Also would removing the varnish damage the whipping?
