The Dorset 'green fittings'

Post by Santiago »

Image

My FT Williams, Dorset, has metallic green fittings (reel bands, winding check, butt cap) and it has this unusual whipping pattern in green and red. Does anyone know if this is the original whipping? Another member pmed me to find out! The rod looks to be in original condition etc.etc.etc. Thanks.

Williams rods were some unusual colour combinations and at the time reflected badly on their sales I think as they did look "foreign" and "gaudy" compared to single colours like James/Chapman/etc rods. I have seen green, copper and red winch and butt fittings.

My Dorset was whipped exactly as your picture Santiago. The reel fittings were a sliding screw lock thingy in aluminium.
