Lined or not?

Post by Hovis »

Chaps,

I have been very very lucky and bagged a Scottie 9ft #6 for my nymph fishing and its perfect got no sets, ferrules are perfect and the whippings are good BUT the butt and tip are not lined. They don’t appear to have been lined at any point and are smooth enough to use but I was wondering is this normal or could they have lost their linings? The whippings are original and the correct colour so won’t have been changed. Help chaps.

Pics to follow
I have laid aside business, and gone a'fishing.

I would have thought that you'd be able to tell straight away if they had ever been lined. The agate needs a groove to sit in and if that is not there then I doubt it ever had a lining. I could be wrong of course :holmes:
