Rod arrived and I'm very happy with it. Makes a supeb stalking rod, slightly stiffer than a Mark IV so perhaps 2lb tc. In really great shape too, seems a shame to strip it down, so I thinlk I'll give it a season before I decide on changing anything, perfectly usable straight away. Such a bargain at £25 inc post!

I'd have bought it at that price. I just like Sharpes rods.

Sounds like a real bargain that one Stu, off the bay was it?

You mentioned stripping it down, is it varnished? Or impregnated?

The reason I ask is that I have a 'Scottie' spinning rod that is varnished, the 'Breamar', but was under the impression that all Scotties were impregnated and presumed I'd bought a dud.....

Mine doesn't say Impreganted and is varnished. I bought it off the bay fr ust over £25 Delivered.
