Got her loaded with 4lb Drennan line and greased with Super Lube......going to hit the club pond tomorrow and give her a whirl

I think they look, in the words of "Match Aerial Very Tasty" also, That Dettol seems to make a much cleaner job than nitromor

Very nice , im tempted to try the same on one of my oldest G and Y reels . He has started something with this Dettol Method aint he :Chuckle: :dancing: . Kindest regards . Woolly Bear :Hat:

Only the handles are some kind of plastic ....sort of yellowy stuff that shouldn't ever have cellulose products near it I think.


Earlier Speedias have a sort of metal 'pill' for the centreboss with two holes to receive some sort of locking tool, I think.

I wonder if you were thinking of Mordex reels, they have a very dodgy plastic centreboss.

Its a pity i'd not seen these threads before i'd started on my Mitchell replacement back to strip the dark blue paint ,or i'd tried this on that ,speedia's are easy enough .a real test would be Mitchell paint on a 410. I can see dettol sales increasing.
