Apologies Aquaerial you would have to ask Andrew Davis as he matched it. My brief was to restore the rod as close to the original as possible which Andrew once again achieved so wonderfully.

Mike the silk used is called Cranberry red its a Japanese silk under the brand of Clover tire. Usually only available from USA. its darkened with some pale french polish.
A special thanks goes to Ljm183 who gifted me a black stand of guide, i could of been still looking for one now.
Well done to PershoreHarrier for finding this Craftversa and getting it restored,i look forward to the next one.

Did the original rods have black guides then? I had no idea! I know their earlier match rods had, but I never thought the Craftversa did. I've got a full new set here!

Yes Nobby i must admit i have seen 3 other Craftversa rods all had chrome guides this is the first i had seen with original black guides except butt and tip.
