I had a five pound chub last week on the Original (light) version! Oh plus a dace that was possibly a 'double'! My favourite rod!

Well done Andrew, an immaculate Dove barbel.

A great days fishing. The river was in fine form producing plenty of grayling, and also good to see chub and dace making a more regular appearance.

I've recently taken possession of an AJD Nottingham style Chub / Barbel rod that I commissioned Andrew to craft .. To say it's a work of art would be a gross understatement . Fervently hoping for the rivers to return to normal condition / levels for this time of year so that I can christen it ............

Well done, you will love it, it feels so crisp in the hand, I too can't wait for the levels to drop so I can get out with mine :Hat:

In these sobering and troubled times that we now find ourselves I was delighted to receive today by ‘Special Courier’ (At a rod lengths distance of course) my new AJ Davis Nottingham Roach rod.

It looked and felt better than I could have hoped for and at just two inches short of twelve foot should make tackling those tricky River Trent downstream winds a little easier.

I had asked Andrew if could deviate from the standard design of a two piece and instead produce the rod in two five foot sections plus the handle making the rod much easier to transport in my five foot hold-all. If that wasn’t enough I wanted a Wallis type handle with a tapered Nickel Silver collar at reel end. The finish to be in dark satin cane with green whipping Oh and a matching wooden but cap!

At lot to ask for but carried off beautifully. It goes without saying Ican’t wait to get on the river banks again.

Thanks again Andrew
