Latest update ... the tip section is all but complete, the new guides with their adjusted spacings (as listed above) in place. It's had 5 coats of thinned varnish to date, and will probably receive 3 more. On the butt section all is complete apart from the 16mm i/d guide whipping in when it arrives, as Chapmans were out of stock but were good enough to send me the rest so I could get on with the job.

Well, it's all done ... my second total strip and re-build. I have to admit I like the look of the 'functional' black only whipping and I think the additional guides (see earlier entry) don't look at all 'out of place,' but maybe that's just me.

Jut seen this AC,,,,very nice.
I bought one and it was delivered today.
The guides are odd...milky agate type throughout, the butt and 2nd are normal cradle type, the rest are kinda like the old "paperclip" style but lined.

That is a sweet looking rod Mal... it will look better with a nice curve and a chunky carp on the end though :Hat:

I've seen those paperclip type rings on Milwards rods before I'm sure they are correct.
