The orange is so bright I wonder if it can even be pre-war....??
I know this is quite an old post Nobby, but I have the same catalogue and I too, would like to know the year.
I am sure that it is before 1937 because the 'Triumph' reel, introduced in 1937 is not in it.
I am doing a little research into pre war bottom rods and knowing the date of the above catalogue would help.

The King of Spain may be a possible clue, His abdication was in 1931 and so I'd
expect Hardy to drop the 'By Appointment' soon afterwards.
