Woldale - burning a boat.

So I just read Woldale for the first time. It was a nice read about a water very local to me, albeit a little brief in places.

I very much enjoyed the story of how, in the height of winter, Maurice and co. burned an old lifeboat on the frozen ice of the top lake.

A while ago I found a few pictures of woldale, taken many years before it became a we'll know carp fishery.

This picture shows the Wragby choir having a boat ride on the low pond. Could this be the lifeboat that was burnt?

Had to check that the above wasn't this one on the bottom lake, but it isn't. Would have been lovely to think how it had lasted all these years.
