In Fred J Taylor’s book Fishing for Tench, he explains how he developed he
Lift method and how he first see it used for Roach fishing back in the 50’s
Fish come and go, but it is the memory of afternoons on the stream that endure

when I'm fishing for barbel i mainly ledger for them but when i fish still waters i nearly always float fish this year i cought my biggest carp doing this while fishing for tench it was twenty five pound common carp on very light gear. i love seeing the float bury i think ill have to do more float fishing on the rivers next year
