Drennan Zeppler floats

Post by Guest47 »

Hello, I was intrigued by the Drennan Zeppler floats. I know they are mostly used for Pike and stream Steelhead here in the states. Can they also be used for Carp in the margins? The pros are they are high in the water & have compact design. Having fished weedy ponds I find that the drift beaters & other slender floats often get banged up . I wondered however if they were at all sensitive to lift bite rigging especially with its large diameter which could possibly create more resistance on the 'take"? The lightest float supports 8 gr. which would mean that I would have to overshot. The average depth for me at this time is between 2-3 feet. Impractical?
I have researched this float and cannot find anything related to Carp fishing and these type of floats. Am I missing anything here? Thanks.
