Thank you all for your kind replies.

I too the MkIV Avon out yesterday with an Aerial 3.5 loaded with 15 pound bs.

After a quiet afternoon I got a run, connected with a powerful fish, just about stopped it in time started to recover line then I think the hooklink must have caught a mussel or ledge, suddenly the world returned to tranquillity, ho hum.
