New Member - Hello

Post by Griff » Sat Dec 03, 2016 4:22 am

Hello to everbody
My name is David, though most people call me Griff and I have just joined your forum, primarily to gain knowledge about traditional fishing tackle, equipment and methods. Until the beginning of this year I have only ever been a sea angler, so over the course of this year I have been reading up a lot on coarse fishing and quite a lot of the books I have read courtesy of project Guttenberg date from the 1850’s to the 1940’s. The result of all this reading made decide to try float fishing and trotting with a center pin reel and then I thought why not also use a traditional rod as well. My first center pin reel has now arrived at home and it will be shortly followed by a 1930’s whole/split cane rod in need of restoration. While I have good all round skills I am master of none so since this will be my first cane rod restoration I feel I have come to the right place for advice and information. I also must confess this is the first forum I have joined so all rather new to me.

Many Thanks and seasons greetings to all

Welcome to the forum. I love a bit of beach fishing but rarely get the chance nowadays. :Hat:
